Owner was very nice and helped me choose a dress, there were many very cool dresses that could fit anyones style. At first we didn’t realize there would be many dresses for younger people, but there was a wide variety of cool colours and etc. Owner was very helpful and I didn’t find her rude like some other reviewers have said, for example she was helping me fit my dress better and suggested and helped me take off my bra but was very professional and didn’t get any uncomfortable vibes. Will definitely be coming back in the future!

We had a great experience with the owner. We did a early shop for a prom dress not sure what to expect. She just confirmed our daughters dress size and directed us to the dress racks that had that size. She was super accommodating and did not push us into buying any dress. Instead kept encouraging us to try on as many dresses as possible and to check out other local stores to make sure that we were satisfied with our choice. We were impressed with the quality and uniqueness of the dress options. We did end up buying a dress from this store and she gave us suggestions on what to accessorize with.

Gave one star just to be able to write a review. It should have a rating of -5!!!! Woman on the phone had the NERVE to comment “oh 18 is Verrrry big! “ when she asked me what size. Don’t worry lady, I won’t darken your doorstep and I have a lot of friends I will be telling to stay away too. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!!!!

I needed a dress for a wedding and saw that someone on Reddit posted a dress they got from there. I liked it, so I went into the store hoping to try it on. The back of the store has a large collection of dresses for all ranges of sizes, available for you purchase that day (that means no waiting for something to be ordered in!). Sherri immediately knew what dresses I thought I would like, even though that particular dress was sold out, and brought out also some dresses that she thought would look good on me. From prom and weddings to classy and sultry, there were so many options.

On a side note, I went alone, but Sherri took to the role of both hype girl and mother. She made me feel like my mom was there helping me pick out a dress and it nearly made me cry (that's besides the point though).

Ultimately, the care and patience Sherri has for her customers is infamous in this town. Having been there for decades, there's a reason why she loves what she does. She's good at what she does, and we love her for it. For her this isn't just a gig, it's something that she genuinely enjoys doing and that much is evident as soon as you walk into the store.

I felt like my privacy and time was respected, I never felt pressured or rushed, and she gave me space while I decided between two dresses.

Also, she does her own tailoring so it's a one-stop shop! Lastly, the prices were absolutely within reason. Under $400 for the most part, which is a steal when compared to other places.

I took my daughter dress shopping today, and after visiting some of the staples (Agent 99, etc), we were a little underwhelmed with the quality and styles we had seen. The shopping experience was also quite hectic at the larger stores.

We walked into I Mode, not fully expecting that they would have dresses for my daughter's age (gr 8). I had mistakenly assumed the store carries clothes for an older demographic. Luckily, it was on my daughter's list of stores to visit, which gave me the opportunity to see for myself and change my misconceptions!

We were pleasantly surprised to find that there were a number of dresses that were very unique and beautiful for my daughter to try on. The store was very quiet, which made for a really personalized shopping experience.

Sheri, the owner, was very kind and helpful throughout the process. She easily found shoes in a size 9 for my daughter to pair with her dress, making sure the heel wasn't too large and uncomfortable for her.

She complimented her on the dresses, and advised me (while my daughter was in the fitting room) to encourage her to go with what is "in her heart". In other words, to go with the dress my daughter truly loved. I really appreciated this, as I didn't feel she was trying to push us toward one decision or another.

It's sad that some reviewers had such a different experience. We felt really well taken care of with Sheri, but perhaps it is a cultural gap that can also lead to discomfort.

She has a direct approach, and suggested my daughter remove her bra for a better fitting. We understood this was typical of a custom fitting, though in reality I have no idea as I’ve never had this experience. For us, Sheri made us both feel very welcome, but I do understand that this might not be everyone’s experience.

Sheri also shared a bit of her story with us - she came from Iran during the revolution decades ago, and has been working hard to manage the store for over a decade. She has raised her children in Kingston, and now her grandchildren.

I had an amazing experience here! I went in just randomly one day just to browse for a prom dress. At the time it was very busy, but the manager/designer who was working was great with multitasking making sure I wasn't just waiting around for a change room. She was also very knowledgable on the up & coming trends as well as the styles I was most likely to see at my prom this year. I had been to agent 99 to try on some dresses already but didn't find anything that really spoke to me. I found some that would interest me at agent 99 but I would look at the price tag and immediately change my mind. At I Mode the prices were very reasonable. Especially since I absolutely could not justify spending $400 + on a dress I am going to wear once. The women working also suggested what jewellery and shoes that would look good with the dress, complimenting it on me, my entire time that I spent in the store. Yes you could argue that they're just trying to sell you their product but she genuinely meant what she was saying, was bringing over other dresses that she thought would look good on me, etc. Overall it was a very comfortable, exciting experience. 10/10 would recommend!!

The owner of the store was extremely disrespectful and persistent on selling her dresses. The dresses are average, but the size range could be better for the price being paid. Personally, the dresses seemed very dated. The owner made me feel very self conscious in the dresses saying it’s too tight for my body and brought me plus sizes to try on, mind you I have a small and petite figure. Overall, the experience was terrible and I would not recommend this store. I would go across the street to agent 99 and pay good price for my dress and the experience that I have there.

If you need a dress altered, are looking for a prom dress, bridesmaid dress, evening gowns and more...look no further. Great price for alterations and you can tell the owner takes pride in her business. I am very happy with the turn out of my alterations and will definitely be a returning customer.
